Malaysia’s economy minister warns fuel supply to remain volatile for months or years

Malaysia is reviewing its fuel subsidy scheme and may scale back support for higher- income groups as early as next month. This comes as the government's monthly fuel subsidy costs surpassed US$1.5 billion. Malaysian Economy Minister Akmal Nasir told CNA’s Melissa Goh that the government expects supply of fuel and other critical materials to remain volatile for months, if not years - even if the Middle East conflicts are resolved.
