A man who was arrested after attacking multiple people with a metal bar at a hospital has now been detained in hospital for the next six months. Merseyside Police raced to Newton Community Hospital in Newton-le-Willows, St Helens, at around 12pm on December 30, 2025, following reports that the man had assaulted several people.
