An alert has been issued after a big rise in illnesses in travellers coming back to the UK from 25 holiday hotspots. The UK Health Security Agency said anyone going abroad this Easter should take extra precautions after a big virus outbreak was detected last year. Officials said there has been an increase in chikungunya with a total of 160 cases reported during 2025, compared with 112 in 2024 - a 43 per cent increase.
