Premier Giorgia Meloni's government is set to launch an "administrative inquiry" into why action was not taken to prevent Sunday's landslide in the Sicilian town of Niscemi having such dramatic consequences, given than a similar landslide occurred 29 years ago. Sunday's landslide left many homes perilously perched on the precipice of a cliff, meaning around 1,500 people had to be evacuated and the town's elementary school had to be closed.
