An American working as a medical missionary in Democratic Republic of Congo has tested positive for Ebola, the Christian aid group Serge said Monday. The missionary, Dr. Peter Stafford, was exposed while treating patients at Nyankunde Hospital, where he has worked with the aid group since 2023, said Serge in a statement. Two other physicians who had been working with him, including his wife, remain asymptomatic, the group said.
