Former Taipei mayor released after being questioned in graft probe

TAIPEI: A court on Monday (Sep 2) released a former mayor of Taipei who now heads a small opposition party after he was arrested in a graft probe of a major property development in the Taiwanese capital, saying there was a lack of evidence. Ko Wen-je, mayor from 2014 to 2022 and who came third in January's presidential election, was arrested on Saturday after investigators raided his home and his Taiwan People's Party (TPP) and questioned him for hours.
