Space mission to investigate ‘faint Universe’

The European Space Agency (ESA) has officially adopted ARRAKIHS, a mission involving UCL researchers that will observe the faint outer regions of galaxies to better understand how galaxies form and evolve. ARRAKIHS (which stands for Analysis of Resolved Remnants of Accreted galaxies as a Key Instrument for Halo Surveys ) will be ESA’s second FAST-class (F2) scientific mission, with a target launch date of 2030.
