US investigating 16 key partners for 'unfair trade practices'

US President Donald Trump's administration is opening trade-related investigations with potential to reinstate tariffs. US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said a probe has been launched to look into excess industrial capacity in 16 major trading partners. Mr Greer flagged that China, the EU, India, Japan and South Korea are among those that may face new levies. Other partners under investigation include Taiwan, Singapore and Indonesia.
