PARIS — France has for years been itching to take on the business model of the Chinese e-commerce platform Shein. This week the government finally got its chance. The discovery that the site was selling sex dolls made to resemble children prompted outrage and led Paris to move to suspend the platform online. For its part, Shein maintains that it acted promptly to have illegal listings removed and to temporarily halt its marketplace between buyers and sellers in France, while promising a “total
