The European Commission has fined Meta £663m for breaching EU competition laws in relation to its classified ads service, Facebook Marketplace. The Commission argued that by integrating Marketplace into the Facebook platform, users were constantly exposed to it, whether they wanted to or not, giving the site a "substantial distribution advantage" over other classified ad platforms.
