Climate change makes water issues in Europe worse. Extreme heat, prolonged droughts and devastating floods damage ecosystems, human health, and cause major disruptions to economic activities. The European Parliament wants the EU to act fast with an ambitious water resilience plan to ensure sustainable water management and secure sufficient water resources. MEPs debated the issue in May.
