Where should the EU invest from 2028 onward? Parliament debates the next long-term budget, which will shape the European Union’s priorities for the coming seven years. The budget must remain predictable and robust to support cohesion, prosperity, competitiveness, quality jobs, security and defence capabilities, and the green and digital transitions, while leaving no one behind. Affordable housing, defending democracy and the rule of law, energy efficiency, climate action, critical
