Iranian drones send oil tanker up in flames in Strait of Hormuz

IRAN-ISRAEL

An oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz dramatically burst into flames today (1 March) after being hit by an Iranian strike. The Palau-flagged oil tanker under U.S. sanctions was struck about five nautical miles north of Khasab Port off Oman’s Musandam peninsula, injuring four crew members, according to the Oman Maritime Security Centre. The strike follows earlier drone attacks on Duqm port and comes amid escalating regional tensions after retaliatory strikes by Tehran targeting Gulf states.
