One in Three Women in the EU Faces Violence or Threats, Study Finds

A significant proportion of women in the European Union, approximately one in three (30.7%), has experienced physical violence , sexual violence , or threats at some point in their lives, according to a large-scale study conducted between 2020 and 2024. The research was carried out by the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA), Eurostat, and the European Institute for Gender Equality, involving over 114,000 women aged 18 to 74. The findings reveal no notable improvement in reducing violence
