For Vladimir Putin, the war in Iran could not have come at a better time. As Russia’s war in Ukraine entered it's fifth grinding year in February, the Kremlin’s economy, military and diplomatic standing were strained to the limit. However, a new conflict in the Middle East is creating unexpected advantages for Moscow. The clearest benefit is economic.
