BRUSSELS European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Tuesday announced a new strategy to accelerate the development of small modular nuclear reactors (SMRs), aiming to have the technology operational across Europe by the early 2030s. Speaking at the World Summit on Nuclear Energy in Paris, von der Leyen said the European Commission will introduce a €200 million ($231 million) guarantee to support private investment in innovative nuclear technologies. The funding will be financed
