Philip Ushchev is currently Professor of Economics at ECARES, ULB. He has broad research interests, which embrace networks, applied general equilibrium (specifically, the implications of variable elasticity of substitution in macro and trade), industrial organization, and urban/spatial economics. His ongoing research covers a rich array of topics, including technology adoption, peer effects in networks, the role of word-of-mouth in entry deterrence, innovation cycles, and the origin of cities.
