Lucian Nemoiu
The Lower House on Wednesday gave unanimous approval, with 227 votes in favour and none against, to a bill tightening the definition of rape to make it clear that sex without explicit consent is a felony. The bill, the result of agreement between Premier Giorgia Meloni's right-wing Brothers of Italy (FdI) party and the opposition, centre-left Democratic Party (PD) led by Elly Schlein, now moves to the Senate.
