Senate Speaker says he'd repeat Liberation Day tribute to Republic of Salò fallen

Senate Speaker Ignazio La Russa, a leading member of Premier Giorgia Meloni's right-wing Brothers of Italy (FdI) party, said Tuesday that he thinks it appropriate to pay tribute to the fallen of the Italian Social Republic (RSI) on April 25, Italy's Liberation Day national holiday. The RSI, which is widely known as the Republic of Salò, was a Nazi puppet state set in up the latter part of World War II following the German invasion after Italy's armistice with the Allies of September 1943.
