United States President Donald Trump’s administration has started sending tariff notices to various countries amid talks with other trading partners, ahead of an Aug 1 deadline for negotiations. Susan Stone, Credit Union SA chair of economics at the University of South Australia, shares with CNA’s Asia First about how Trump tariffs may lead to countries seeking other export markets, which could reduce supply to US markets. She adds that it may also lead to higher costs for American consumers.
