Ljubljana, 19 April - Darko Zupanc, head of the National Examinations Centre (RIC), believes the matura, reintroduced 30 years ago, upholds a certain standard of knowledge at the end of secondary education through its external exams. He however sees a broader need to raise overall knowledge standards across the education system, especially for weaker students.
