The Sea-Watch 5 rescue ship helped 73 migrants in two different rescue operations carried out on August 11 in the Central Mediterranean. The first rescue took place during the night, with six migrants saved from a boat in distress. According to a press release issued by the NGO Sea Watch, after rescuing 67 people on an overcrowded boat in the second operation, a nine-month pregnant woman went into labour, requiring immediate medical intervention, "essential for the survival of the unborn child."
