German Chancellor Friedrich Merz says 80 percent of Syrians in Germany should return to their homeland within the next three years. He made the comments alongside Syria's interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa. It's Al Sharaa's first trip to Berlin since ousting longtime dictator Bashar al-Assad in 2024.
