A waste and recycling company in Oldham was fined £250,000 after a man was run over on his first day on the job, the UK’s Health and Safety Executive (HSE) said on April 2. The man was hand picking waste when he was hit from behind by a moving shovel loader. The digger drove over the man and had to reverse when the alarm was raised by nearby colleagues.
