Billy Strings is still coming to terms with his mother’s death last June. The singer and guitarist takes one mere stop in that journey with his new album, So Much for Goodbyes. Due Aug. 28, the album is Strings’ direct response to the gut punch of losing a parent to a drug overdose. “I made this record to honor my mother. To notice and embrace this very significant period of grief in my life and make art from it. To turn my heartbreak into songs while using my guitar as a coping mechanism as I
