Bentracimab reverses ticagrelor's antiplatelet effects during surgery and bleeding events

American College of Cardiology Mar 29 2025 A drug developed as an antidote to the antiplatelet agent ticagrelor safely and effectively reversed ticagrelor's antiplatelet effects in patients undergoing urgent surgery or experiencing major bleeding, according to a study presented at the American College of Cardiology's Annual Scientific Session (ACC.25). The antidote, bentracimab, rapidly restored normal platelet function in ticagrelor-treated patients. This was true for both surgical patients
