A schoolboy has been arrested after an elderly man and woman were stabbed in a home in Northumberland. A police cordon remains in place on a residential street in Ashington, Northumberland after emergency services were called just before 7am this morning. They were responding to reports of a disturbance at the property. The man, who is in his 70s, and the woman, who is in her 60s, were rushed to hospital after sustaining injuries that are thought to have been inflicted with a bladed article.
