A bipartisan group of lawmakers is renewing a push to expand veterans’ benefits under legislation that would allow thousands of disabled service members to receive full military retirement pay and Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) disability compensation. The proposal, known as the Major Richard Star Act, was reintroduced this week by Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut and Republican Representative Gus Bilirakis of Florida, and several veteran advocacy groups showed up on
