At least 16 people were killed in a fire at a retirement home on Indonesia’s Sulawesi island on Sunday (Dec 28). The blaze broke out at the Werdha Damai facility in Manado, where many residents were believed to have been resting in their rooms for the night. Online footage showed local residents helping elderly people escape from the burning building.
