Drivers to pay extra £3 for petrol after September 2026 rule change

Paradigma de interes

Drivers will face increasing petrol prices from September 2026 which will quickly hit an extra £3 for every full tank of fuel. The Government has announced it will end the freeze on fuel duty this year, scrapping the 5p per litre discount currently in place. The price of petrol at the pump will go up by 1p a litre on September 1, 2026, another 2p per litre on December 1, 2026 and a final 2p per litre on March 1, 2027. That will mean filling up a 60-litre tank will then cost you an extra £3.
