ANKARA   Japan will increase its defense spending to 2% of gross domestic product (GDP) by 2027 and plans to spend around $70 billion on defense in the current fiscal year, Defense Minister Gen Nakatani announced Tuesday. Speaking at a news conference, Nakatani said the government will allocate approximately 8.5 trillion yen (about $59 billion) for its defense budget and an additional 1.5 trillion yen ($10.4 billion) for related outlays in the initial budget for the fiscal year beginning this
