European stocks open higher as earnings buoy sentiment; NatWest shares up 3%

LONDON — European stocks opened in positive territory on Friday amid a slew of earnings reports. The pan-European Stoxx 600 was 0.3% higher shortly after the opening bell, with most sectors and bourses in the green. The U.K.'s FTSE 100 , Germany's DAX 40 and France's CAC 40 gained around 0.1% at the start of the session, while Italy's FTSE MIB advanced 0.3%. With earnings season well underway, investors will be monitoring a swathe of reports today, including from Saab , ENI, Sanofi , truckmaker
