Singapore's Education Ministry said it has no intention of scaling its central kitchen model to every school, and it is only reserved for those that face difficulties securing stallholders. It added that it is open to alternatives, including paying hawkers to run canteen stalls. The introduction of a central kitchen model in 13 schools this year has left a bad taste for some, with several students falling ill after consuming food from the service. Chloe Teo reports.
