Wes Streeting to run in Labour leadership race and calls for UK to rejoin EU

The former health secretary, Wes Streeting, has confirmed he will enter any Labour leadership contest to replace Sir Keir Starmer as prime minister. Mr Streeting - who resigned this week - had been speaking at the Labour-backing think tank, Progress, where he also expressed hopes the UK would one day reverse Brexit.
