Earthquake hits Costa del Sol as 4.1 magnitude tremor felt across resorts

A 4.1-magnitude quake has hit the Costa del Sol. The tremor stuck near Fuengirola, Malaga, at a depth of 78 kilometres, at 10.38am this morning (9.38am GMT), according to the National Geographic Institute. People as far as Cordoba - about 93 miles inland - reported feeling the tremors. Seismologists believe its location suggests it occurred in the upper mantle beneath the Iberian Peninsula, a region where tectonic plates can still generate seismic activity.
