Romanian freelancers report higher incomes, but also higher tax bills in 2025 – SOLO analysis

The value of taxes paid by Romanians earning income from independent activities reached EUR 42.7 million, or RON 213.7 million, for 2025, compared with EUR 30.6 million, or RON 153.1 million, in the previous year, according to an analysis by SOLO, a 100% digital platform for managing PFAs, the Romanian legal form used by self-employed professionals and sole traders.
