UPDATE (Sept. 24, 2025): Officials initially stated that two of the three detainees shot had been killed, but the Department of Homeland Security clarified in a statement Wednesday afternoon that two remain in critical condition and only one of the detainees was killed. A shooter with a rifle opened fire from a nearby roof onto a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) location in Dallas on Wednesday, killing two detainees and wounding another before taking his own life, authorities said.
