Up to 27 animals , including an adorable miniature pony called Rainbow, all died while on a "death trap" farm used for a livestock throughout the making of The Hobbit. Wranglers working on the film trilogy alleged the production firm were responsible for the deaths in the run-up to the film's 2012 debut.
