April 18 (UPI) -- South Korea's Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced earlier this month that the country's first-quarter food exports surged 9.6% year-on-year to reach $2.48 billion. With this pace, annual exports are highly likely to surpass $10 billion for the first time, beating the previous record of $9.98 billion last year.
