EU announces up to €540 million in aid for farmers and greater CAP flexibility

The European Commission has announced that up to €540 million from the CAP agricultural reserve could be mobilised to provide "targeted and exceptional" support to farmers affected by the conflict in the Middle East. EU member states are expected to approve the increase in available resources by the end of July.
