European Parliament activates urgent procedure for fertiliser price support measures

The European Parliament has activated the urgent procedure to approve support measures for farmers affected by soaring fertiliser prices linked to the conflict in the Middle East. The proposal for targeted amendments to the Common Agricultural Policy was presented by the European Commission last week to provide emergency support to the sector.
