A town mayor has been gunned down in Austria 's Mühlviertel region causing the surrounding area to go into lockdown with the suspected gunman – who has also shot two others – still at large. Mayor Franz Hofer was found dead by emergency services after a series of shots were fired in the Rohrbach district on Monday morning.
