Germany was on Thursday ordered to pay compensation to the heirs of an Italian soldier who was interned in German and Austrian labour camps for two years from 1943 to '44. The civil court of Rome awarded compensation of €82,000 from the Federal Republic of Germany for the children of a soldier captured in 1943, after the Armistice, and interned in concentration camps in Germany and Austria for 632 days of deportation.
