Today, a report into almost £11 billion of Covid scheme fraud has found that most of it is beyond recovery. Covid Counter Fraud Commissioner, Tom Hayhoe said that a lack of accountability, bad quality data and poor contracting during the pandemic had led to £10.9 billion being lost to fraud or error.
