Layoffs Across the U.S. Soar to Highest Level Since 2020

According to a report from the job outplacement firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas, announced layoffs across the United States have reached their highest level since the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Knewz.com has learned that the massive volume of announced job cuts in February 2025 came amidst efforts by the Donald Trump administration and the Department of Government Efficiency ( DOGE ) to significantly slash the federal workforce.
