Tourists ‘abandon’ Lake District with hotels, restaurants and cottages lying empty

Tourists are said to be "abandoning" one of Britain's most popular tourists destinations - the Lake District. Local community activist Tim Keenan said that the region is struggling to recover to pre-Covid levels , even while the rest of the UK enjoys a boom from swelling domestic tourism numbers.
