The Department of Homeland Security has defended U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) training standards after a former ICE lawyer who oversaw training for new officers warned on Monday that the agency’s program for new recruits is “deficient, defective and broken.” The department provides “the best of the best training” for officers, DHS said in a news release on Monday.
