Workers in Uttar Pradesh’s Bhadohi - India’s carpet-weaving hub - say they are struggling to make a living after US President Donald Trump slapped 50% tariffs on Indian exports to the US. The US accounts for nearly 60% of India’s $1.8bn carpet exports. Nearly three million people in Uttar Pradesh are directly or indirectly employed in the trade.
