A man has died after he was hit by a car while getting out of his broken down vehicle on a motorway, it has been reported. Police were called to reports of a collision on the A1(M) near Stevenage at around 1.20am on Saturday. Paramedics worked to save the man but the pedestrian, described as in his 30s, died at the scene. Hertfordshire Police said the victim is believed to have been getting out of a broken-down Honda Civic on May 9. The car had come to a stop on a grass verge near the slip road
