Restaurant spending drops in Romania as economic caution sets in
Inflatie
Romanians dined out less frequently in the first four months of 2025, with the restaurant sector seeing a decline of over 8%, according to figures released Wednesday by the National Institute of Statistics, cited by Hotnews. People seem to be more cautious with spending in recent months amid rising inflation, higher rents, and growing concerns about the country’s economic outlook. Data from Oxford Economics show that the average Romanian household spends around EUR 830 per year on eating out.
